Renewing Lives is organized as a State of California Non-Profit Religious Corporation (Christian church) exclusively for religious purposes within the meaning of IRS Section 501 (c (3). Donations to Renewing Lives are tax deductible under IRS Section 170 (c (2).
Our purpose is to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Meet the Board
Judd Nafziger - President
Judd is an ordained minister commissioned through Calvary Chapel Pacific Hills. He has a BA in Psychology, MS in School Administration, BA in Biblical studies from Calvary Chapel Bible College, and retired after 37 years teaching in public schools. His passion is evangelism and training church teams for short-term mission trips. Judd and his wife Paula often serve together in prison and jail ministry.
Paula Nafziger - Director
Paula found her calling to minister to the incarcerated in 1997. She served as the Faith Based Chaplain, then volunteer Chaplain at California Institution for Women for over a decade. Currently, she is the leader for the Renewing Lives Program at CIW teaching The Parent Project with Proverbs. She is ordained through Calvary Chapel Pacific Hills for Federal and State prison ministry as well as an IFOC Chaplain. Paula is a court approved certified anger management and domestic violence specialist. She has experience with the homeless, hospitalized, and incarcerated . Her present passion is creating large print material for the less fortunate.
Arlen Lukkes - Secretary
Arlen has been ministering since 1977 beginning in Mexico and currently serves as a religious volunteer at California Institution for Women and Orange County Jail Inmate Reception Center. Arlen was ordained through Calvary Chapel Pacific Hills as a Women’s Prison Chaplain. She and her husband Scott reside in Orange County, CA. In this picture, Arlen is working on Quillows and backpacks for a Motel Kids outreach.

About the Author
Chaplain Paula Nafziger was the volunteer Chaplain at California Institution for Women for over a decade and has volunteered there since 1997. At present she runs the Renewing Lives program inside CIW teaching inmates the Bible and life skills.
Through Paula and the ministry team of Renewing Lives, thousands of inmates have benefited from classes, events, resources and services.
Paula is the author of: Fool-Proof Wisdom, Proverbs 1 [8.4mb], and many other studies. She is currently preparing for publication the word of God book-by-book in large and ultra large print formats.
Privately, Paula is a successful entrepreneur but her passion is ministry to the lost, low-spirited and lonely, with an emphasis on the incarcerated.
Paula is an ordained minister through Calvary Chapel Pacific Hills. She and her husband, Judd, attend CCPH. Judd is a retired public school teacher after 37 years of faithful service and ordained minister graduate of Calvary Chapel Bible College. He is a great encourager, is blessed with Godly wisdom and teaches evangelism through: www.sharingyourfaith.org.
